“The militants* has committed another historical crime – blew up the mosque an-Nuri and minaret”, – reads the statement of the press service of the Iraqi army. According to the military, mosque an-Nuri and minaret al Hadba militants blew up when the Iraqi army moved into the city, reaching convincing victories over the forces of the IG*.
It mosque an-Nuri, built over 800 years ago, terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was chosen in 2014 for his public preaching, which proclaimed a “Caliphate” of ISIS*. The mosque is located on its territory, “falling”, the minaret of al-Hadba then became a symbol of radical, reminds RIA “Novosti”.
