The Minister of labour and social protection Maxim Topilin on Tuesday during the meeting with representatives of the Association of European businesses reported that the decline in real wages in Russia in 2015 amounted to 9.5%, the newspaper “Kommersant”. Overall, according to the Minister, the situation on the labour market remains quiet, but his concern that in past crises this fall in real wages of Russians was not.

According to the Minister, in 2016, the unemployment rate in Russia will not exceed 6%. In December 2015, according to Rosstat, it was 5.8%.

Thus, in the second half of last year, nominal wages have stopped growing. The most notable reduction in the rate of growth of nominal wages was observed in public sector, and most notably affected the service sector.

According to analysts of the Center of the Higher school of Economics, reminds the edition, reducing real wages by the end of 2015 in different sectors of the economy was even more important in the public sector the decline was 16%, in the processing and production – by 7% and 12%, in services – by 13.5%. According to the forecast of the Ministry of economy, in 2016 real wages to decline by another 3.5%.

To support the labor market in the U.S. are going in the manual mode, for this purpose, the Department proposes to provide 10 billion rubles in anti-crisis plan. Maxim Topilin also said that his Department is ready to study the experience of foreign companies to overcome unemployment and employment of workers who were laid off. “In the space of those who remain without work, no one runs. For them are looking for new opportunities,” he added.
