The Netherlands plans to allow euthanasia of healthy citizens – this bill propose to discuss the Ministry of health and the Ministry of justice of the country. Prior formulations are as follows: citizens who believe that “their life is completed,” will be able to resort to “assistance with suicide”, even if they are not terminally ill, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to Reuters.

In a letter to the Minister of health edit shippers and her colleagues from the Ministry of justice Art van der Ster sent to the Parliament, saying: “(People) who came to mindful decision that their life is finished, should be allowed, in the presence of strict and precise criteria, to end his life in a way that they think is worthy.”

Department offered to parliamentarians to work out the details of the project. It is expected that the authorities will develop the bill together with doctors and experts in the field of ethics by the end of 2017.

In 2002, the Netherlands became the first country in the world to legalize active euthanasia. According to the legislation of the country now resort to euthanasia only to patients who are experiencing unbearable suffering and have no hope of recovery.

After the Holland medical assistance for the death of the terminally ill has been legalized in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. In the United States euthanasia is legal in four States. In some States allow passive euthanasia, in which medical care is provided – the struggle for patient’s life is terminated, and the natural death comes quickly.

In Russia euthanasia is prohibited by law.
