The relationship between parents and school will be determined by regulations, not by the principle of “providing services”, said the Minister of education and science of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva.

“Everyone should understand that the job of a teacher is not a service. I forbid you to pronounce the word “service”, – TASS quoted her saying at the all-Russian seminar-meeting of the Russian trade Union of education on September 27.

Vasilyeva also said the need in the shortest possible time to introduce regulation of cooperation of school with parents. “In this regulation should be clearly spelled out requirements that parents and family can provide the school and the school family,” explained the Minister.

The previous day she declared that considers necessary to create the regulation of relations between teachers and pupils ‘ parents, who are now, according to her, flipped “upside the head”.

At the same time she called for a return of cleaning school premises with students, as it was in Soviet times, to “restore the responsibility of the little man for the place in which he spends 11 years.

Vasilieva, who previously held the post of Deputy head of Department of presidential administration on public projects, was appointed Minister of education on August 19 instead of Dmitry Livanov. Went on this post, Vasiliev noted by a number of initiatives, in particular promised to bring astronomy into the school curriculum, supported the proposal of Patriarch Kirill “Golden Canon” in the study of literature and advocated the reduction of the number of textbooks in other subjects, calling it the creation of a “unified educational space”.
