The Swedish Academy gave up trying to contact the American musician Bob Dylan, to officially inform him of the award of the Nobel prize for literature and find out whether an artist on the award ceremony, reports The Guardian.

“Now we do nothing,” said radio SR , the permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy Sara Danius. She noted that he called and sent e-mails to the representative Dylan and he answered very kindly. But the musician on communication did not leave.

According to danius, the Swedish Academy felt that at the moment this is enough. Admitted as permanent Secretary, she’s not worried because he believes that eventually Dylan will arrive in Stockholm to receive the award.

Until now, Bob Dylan has not commented on the award, which became known on Thursday. The same day he gave a concert in Las Vegas, but the statement did not mention about it.

The award of the Nobel prize will be awarded in Stockholm on 10 December – the day of Alfred Nobel’s death. From the hands of king Carl XVI Gustaf, the laureates will receive a gold medal with the portrait of the founder of the prize and a diploma. Each winner also cooked for 8 million Swedish kronor (906,7 thousand U.S. dollars at current exchange rates).
