The organizers of “Eurovision” has been farmed out to Kiev, the question of the entry of Yulia Samoilova Ukraine
The organizers of the musical contest “Eurovision”, which will be held in may in Kiev, have no claims to the Russian side, who have chosen to participate in the contest, the singer Yulia Samoylova, whose candidacy provoked outrage in Ukraine due to the recent tours by artists in the Crimea.
The Executive Director of the contest Jon Ola sand stressed that the issue of participation of the Russian singer has to make the decision directly by the Ukrainian government.
“We fully understand and respect the laws of Ukraine, but the European broadcasting Union (EBU) we have no objections to the Russian delegation, and we see no violations from their side. We want all countries participated, but the decision of the Ukrainian government, and we respect him” – he said (quoted by “Interfax-Ukraine”).
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, in turn, noted that all participants should abide by Ukrainian legislation. “One of the countries, the Russian Federation illegally annexed Crimea and continues an undeclared hybrid war in Eastern Ukraine. However, this country is among the participants of the Eurovision song contest. The Russian side proposed participant, which, unfortunately, according to some reports, crossed the border of Crimea illegally. This matter requires further consideration by the Ukrainian security services. This process is happening now,” Kirilenko explained.
Note that the majority of Russians do not support the proposal to boycott the upcoming musical competition “the Eurovision” and I think that Russia must send their participant. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Russian centre for public opinion studies.
According to sociologists, Russians are well familiar with the “Eurovision song contest”: about this event, heard nothing, only 8% of respondents. In General, the attitude to the song contest was positive-neutral – 51% of respondents positively assess the show, 27% hold a neutral position. The share of negatives amounted to 12%, which is more than two times higher than in 2009.
On the eve of the interior Ministry of Ukraine did not rule outthat the Russian artist who moves in a wheelchair, unable to prosecute because she was on tour in Crimea. Earlier it became known that this question deals with already and the security Service of Ukraine.
The semi-finals of the competition will be held in Ukraine on may 9 and 11, and the final will take place on 13 may in the International exhibition centre. In total in “Eurovision-2017″ will be attended by representatives of 43 countries, including the Russian swimmer Yulia Samoilova. Last year Sergey Lazarev with the song You are the only one took third place, and a year earlier, the Polina Gagarina song A million voices won the second position.
Julia Samoylova received popularity thanks to participation in the project Alla Pugacheva “factor a” in 2013 where she took second place, and Pugachev awarded her the prize “Golden star of Alla”. Samoilova participated in the opening ceremony of the winter Paralympic games in Sochi in 2014. On “the Eurovision” in Kiev, the singer will perform the song Flame is burning.
