The Patriarch attributed the success of the terrorists in the recruitment of “good Muslims” with “obezvozhivanie” West
The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill has linked the growth of Islamic terrorism with “radical secularization” of Western countries and explained how “obezvozhivanie” and the rejection of religious dogma help Islamists to recruit Muslims. The relationship with the West was reflected in the speech of the Patriarch in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow on Tuesday, November 1, at the opening of the XX world Russian people’s Council, whose theme this year is formulated as “Russia and West: dialogue of peoples in search of answers to civilizational challenges”.
“The invasion of taboo before the delicate sphere, including in sphere of religious emotions, complicates the understanding of the European and American elites not only with Russia, but to other world cultures based on traditional religious ethics, first and foremost with the Muslim world”, – quotes the speech of Kirill , RIA “Novosti”.
In his words, “massive information intrusion largely warms and stimulates the growth of Islamic radicalism, which justifies their actions by aggressive secular policies, and spiritual unprincipled hostile in their representation of the Western community.”
The Patriarch stressed that as an argument to recruit people into the ranks of the terrorists you refer to the “obezbashennyh” civilization of the West. “As the trigger as an argument to the recruitment of honest people in the ranks of terrorists, undoubtedly, there is this reference to obezvojennaya and dehumanized civilization in the West because anything else is an honest Muslim you are offended. But if you say, rising to the ranks of the defenders of Islam, you fight with the devil’s civilization, people can go the way of this temptation”, – quotes the words of the Patriarch “Interfax”.
According to Cyril, terrorism provokes a “radical secularism that excludes a different opinion, a different point of view and assumes that the whole world should be built on the model that define the elite in certain countries”.
Dechristianize Europe and America, continued the Patriarch, leading to “total confusion when discussing the most acute issues of mutual deafness occurs when one side angrily asks how it is possible to publicly insult the religious feelings of millions of people, and the other party with no less indignation asks another question: how can I infringe on someone’s right of free expression?”
The Primate said that the challenge of international terrorism, against which the positions of Russia, the USA and Europe are very close, should be considered in connection with the problem of the destruction of traditional moral standards, “it is interconnected challenges facing humanity.”
Russia and Western countries have a parallel, but distinctive, though not isolated, ways of development, also said the Patriarch. “The freedom granted to us by the Creator, excludes the presence of a single, uncontested way of development, in which some Nations succeed and others lag behind. Therefore it would be correct to speak not about the counter ways of development of Russia and the West, and not about catching the vector of Russian development, but, after the great Russian scientist Nikolai Danilevsky, to acknowledge the parallel development paths of our societies,” said Cyril.
According to him, the parallel in this case “does not mean isolated, does not mean mutual exclusion,” but “insists on the identity and on the principle of the existence of these two possible ways of development”. “We need to affirm the equal dignity of all cultures and civilizations, excluding any attempt of unilateral diktat and imposing political norms and cultural standards, to strive for mutual understanding and equal mutually beneficial cooperation”, – said the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
He said that cooperation between Russia and the West should be “not to the detriment of their interests”, but “without carrying out of new dividing lines, without labelling – the “civilized world”, “world of the barbarian”, the “axis of good” or “axis of evil”.
In the Cathedral attended by the first Deputy head of presidential administration Sergey Kirienko, the Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky, the leaders of the Communist party Gennady Zyuganov, the head of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the leader “Fair Russia” Sergei Mironov, Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya and Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika.
