The Minister of digitalisation of Poland Anna Strezynska harshly criticized the work of the American social network Facebook that has locked a few pages of the Polish activists for the use of the symbol “phalanx,” which, in particular, is the logo of the local national-Patriotic organizations, reports Reuters.

“Facebook violates the prohibition of censorship, which is an urgent constitutional principle of citizens. This is contrary to the Polish Constitution, which States that media cannot be censorship,” – said the Minister. According to her, the social network also use the too strict filters to block accounts for key phrases.

The symbol “phalanx”, which is a stylized image of the hand holding the sword. It was used by banned radical nationalist group in the 1930-ies, however, the symbol itself remains legal in Poland and other countries of the world. Currently, he is the logo right-wing Polish groupings ONR.

Recently Facebook has blocked the profiles of several extreme right-wing nationalist groups in the anticipation of nationalist demonstrations in honor of the independence Day of Poland, which will be held next Friday, November 11. The social network has taken the same actions every year in anticipation of the holiday, and after it restored access to the accounts, journalists said.

Polish activists have repeatedly urged the social network to respect the freedom of speech and freedom of thought, guaranteed by the Polish law. “What makes Facebook, is inconsistent with our constitutional rights,” – said earlier the leader of the National movement in Poland Krzysztof Bosak.
