The Prosecutor General’s office has blocked more than 450 sites created to raise money to terrorists in Syria
The General Prosecutor of Russia achieved blocking of more than 450 sites created to raise money to support illegal armed groups in Syria. This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Malinovsky, speaking on Wednesday, November 30, in the Chinese city of Sanya on 14-th meeting of prosecutors General of the member States of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO). The theme of the meeting was the role of prosecutors in the fight against terrorism.
In his speech, excerpts of which are reproduced on the website of the Supervisory authority, Malinowski noted that after the vesting of the Prosecutor General of Russia accredited its requirements was denied access to more than 1300 Internet resources, with 11 thousand sites deleted the wrongful information.
Malinowski stressed that the field of view of the Prosecutor General were Russian-speaking web-resources, on which were placed materials related to the activities banned in Russia international terrorist organizations “Islamic state”, “Jabhat EN-Nusra” and “al-Qaeda”, including calls to provide financial assistance to terrorists.”
According to Vladimir Malinovskiy, Russia has banned the activities of 24 organizations in recognition of their terrorist.
We will remind, the state office of public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation received the right to block websites with illegal materials without prior notice to the court or the owners of the website from 1 February 2014 in accordance with the entered into force amendments to the law “On information, information technologies and protection of information”. Thanks to them, the Prosecutor General may block the work sites, “calling for riots, extremist activities or participation in mass events held with violation of the law.”
The process of suspension of work sites was simplified after the discovery of inappropriate content on the website now guide the Supervisory authority informs about the violator Roskomnadzor, which directs the operator to block access to the site or posted illegal information. The whole process takes not more than a day.
Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Malinovsky at the meeting in China, also called for the adoption of a Comprehensive UN Convention on combating international terrorism with the elaboration of a universally recognized definition.
“Under the auspices of the UN, it is expedient to create a global anti-terrorist coalition, universal mechanisms to bring the perpetrators of the preparation and execution of international terrorist acts to justice,” said Malinowski.
The meeting was attended by delegations headed by the Prosecutor General or Deputy heads of the Supervisory authorities of the PRC, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Also the summit was attended by the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO Sabyr Imandosov informed of and Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional anti-terrorist structure of the SCO Eugene Sysoev.
Next, 15-th meeting of prosecutors General of the member States of the Shanghai cooperation organization will be held in Russia in 2017.
