The Russian football Union (RFU) has urged fans from Russia to abide by the laws of France and not to break public order in the country during the championship of Europe on football.
“The Russian football Union strongly condemns the actions of Russian fans associated with their participation in riots and unlawful activities in the city and at the match itself. We urge you to show respect for the opponent and its fans, as well as local residents. Obey the laws, rules of conduct and public order on the territory of France,” – said in a statement on the websiteof the RFU.
“We remind you that the matches involving our national team are in the focus of international football disciplinary bodies. In order to avoid the imposition of various disciplinary actions, please refrain from using the stadium fireworks, laser pointers and other prohibited items,” according to the statement.

Previously a member of the Executive Committee of the Russian football Union (RFU) and the Deputy of the state Duma Igor Lebedev called the Russian fans there. In his Twitter he wrote that he does not understand criticism of fans of Russian national team. “Don’t see anything wrong with fight fans. On the contrary, well done to our guys. Keep it up!” – said Lebedev.
He urged them to protect and criticized the actions of the police which failed to protect public order and the right to organize “such events”. “And don’t understand all those politicians and officials that are now hallmarks of our fans. To protect them we must, and come home and see”, he added.
On the eve of the Union of European football associations (UEFA) has warned the RFU and the Football Association of England that their national team could be suspended from participation in the European championship in France in case of repetition of fan unrest.
