Russian tennis player Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina in the final of Wimbledon in the doubles defeated their opponents and for the first time in their careers won the British tournament of series Grand slam.

In the main match of the doubles to Russians resisted tennis player Hao-Ching Chan of Taiwan and Monica Niculescu of Romania. “Sown” in the tournament at the second number, Makarova and Vesnina won in two sets without dropping a single game: 6:0, 6:0.

The President of the Russian tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev after the victory, Vesnina and Makarova expressed confidence that they are the best pair of women’s tennis at the moment.

“The pair played at different speeds, plus rivals our girls worse was feeding, so the final was developed with only one goal. The difference in class was noticeable. In General, Vesnina and Makarova are one of the best couples in the world. National from one country, so definitely the best to compete with them is very difficult,” said the Tarpischev.

Vesnina made it to the Wimbledon final in pairs for the third time in his career, for Makarova, it was the second final. To win a prestigious tournament to date, they have failed.
