The Russian team took third place in the team competition at the world Championships in gymnastics, which ended on Sunday in Montreal, Canada.

The tournament was awarded 12 sets of medals. Domestic team competing in a very new composition compared to the 2016 Olympics, won one gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

The only gold in the Treasury team brought Maria Paseka, who became two-time world champion in the vault. Silver was won by David Belyavsky (horse), Denis Ablazin (ring) and Yelena Yeryomina (parallel bars), bronze – bielawski (bars) and Eremin (all-around).

“Our men here gleaning medals, – TASS quoted a senior coach of Russia Valentina Rodionenko. – Floor exercise, vault. It’s a shame, but we can live with it, because we know that we have these shells competitive gymnasts. And our opponents, which is important, too, know about it”.

First place in the team standings was taken by the Chinese (3-1-2), the second spot is occupied by the Japanese (2-0-1), the fourth – Americans (1-3-1), the fifth – the Germans and the British (1-0-1).

At the previous world championship held in 2015 in Glasgow, Scotland, the Russian team took third place, but won three gold medals and one silver. The next world championship to be held in 2018 in Doha.
