On the eve of the writer’s sociologists “Levada-Center” asked the Russians, who from Patriotic writers they consider to be the most prominent.

The three leaders proved to be predictable, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Chekhov. For them voted 45, 23 and 18% of respondents, respectively. The top ten also includes Pushkin, Gogol, Sholokhov, Bulgakov, Turgenev, Gorky and Lermontov.

In the second ten, with Kuprin, Bunin and Nekrasov adjacent Darya Dontsova, and Boris Akunin ahead of Griboedov, Alexander Ostrovsky and Vladimir Nabokov.
