The Presidium of the Russian Supreme court overturned the sentence against blogger Alexei Navalny on charges of embezzling the funds of the company “Kirovles”, reports TASS. The case was transferred for reconsideration in the Leninsky district court of Kirov in connection with again opened circumstances.

“The sentence of Lenin district court of Kirov in respect
Navalny Alexey Anatolievich and Ofitserov Peter Y. to cancel,
the case was sent for retrial to the same court for consideration in
new composition of the court”, – stated in the definition of the Bureau, announced in
Wednesday (quoted by “Interfax”).

The Presidium of the Supreme court took up the case in connection with the decision of the European court of human rights (ECHR), which is found in violation of the right to a fair trial.

Previously Navalny in the case of “Kirovles”, was sentenced to five years in prison conditionally, the second defendant – the former head of the “Vyatka forest company” Peter Ofitserov, received a four year suspended sentence.
