By the end of 2016 for the first time Russia will hold fewer space launches than the United States and China. About it to journalists on Tuesday, November 29, at the conference “Cosmonautics of the XXI century” in Korolev, Moscow region first Deputy head of Roscosmos Alexander Ivanov.

As explained by Ivanov, such a situation is due to the fact that in the framework of the Federal space program there were other problems – namely, the creation of many of the orbital groups, reports RIA “Novosti”.

“The Federal space programme is directed and formed so that in the first place to revive constellation. We are in the best interests of the PCF reduced the starts”, – said the Deputy head of the space Agency. As a result, according to him, was created by the orbital communications, orbital constellation of remote sensing (remote sensing satellites of the Earth) a number of groups for military purposes. “The first task of the PCF was aimed at precisely this,” he concluded.

The BFC will once again reduce

The first Deputy head of Roscosmos Alexander Ivanov at the conference also said that the rocket-space industry Russia could face yet another funding cuts, reports “Interfax”.

“I think how to protect the Federal space program, which is constantly declining. Adopted in March, was the first sequester, now another sequester,” said the head of the Agency, noting that, in particular, the question of “how to protect the state defense order.”

In turn, the scientific Director of the Institute of astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INASAN), RAS corresponding member Boris Shustov said that Russia has reduced the number of spacecraft in the program to explore the moon. According to him, initially it was about five spacecraft to study the moon, now they will be four.

According to Shustov, Russia should not lose the tradition of lunar exploration, however, would have to work out the process of landing. “For the time that has passed since the closing of the Soviet lunar program, we lost a lot of technology,” lamented the scientist.

It is noteworthy that only the previous day, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees military space industry of the country, has announcedthat the Russian space industry managed to overcome a series of setbacks and at present she is on the threshold of new technological breakthroughs.

Meanwhile, in the summer specialists of the Russian space-rocket Corporation “Energy” in the report on the company for 2015 warnedthat the Russian space industry may lose its leadership position in the world due to the increasing competition from China and the United States.

“Roscosmos” estimated costs for the creation of new carrier rocket of superheavy class

The first Deputy head of Roscosmos Alexander Ivanov also said at the conference in the Queen for creation of the new carrier rocket of superheavy class with a starting table requires 1.5 trillion rubles, reports RBC.

In the summer the General Director of RSC Energia Vladimir Solntsev told that the Russian space Agency began the design of a new superheavy rocket, which can be the base for the lunar program.

According to Solntseva, to develop the rocket uses the RD-171 engine, which will form the basis of the concept of super-heavy carrier, and the third step for the media is planned to take from the rocket “Angara”. It is assumed that the missile can be created in record short terms – for five to seven years.

On the eve of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin noted that the industry on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin goes to the project of super-heavy rockets. “And that’s a whole other load of options. This is an opportunity to implement the idea of a lunar research station, visited or inhabited”, he said.

The US and China will for the first time ahead of Russia in the number of space launches, said in Roskosmos 29.11.2016
