The newspaper “Vedomosti” has removed from its website an article about the house of the head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin. Now, in place of the publication posted a message “Material is removed by the court”.

In September, the Ostankino district court of Moscow recognized the article violates the right of the head of “Rosneft” on privacy and agreed to remove it from the website of the newspaper, and to destroy the surviving copies of the room in which it was published, and to publish information about the court’s decision. Later the Moscow city court recognised this decision lawful.

We are talking about a publication called “Sechin makes a nest in Barvikha”, published in the “Gazette” and on the website of the newspaper on July 20. It was reported that Igor Sechin, in the autumn of 2014 is building a new house near the sanatorium “Barvikha” on the ruble, on a plot of 3 hectares. the Cost of land, the newspaper estimated at $ 60 million. Also the article said that in the fall of 2015 the surrounding plots acquired children Sechin. The cost of land, the newspaper estimated at $ 60 million.

Representatives of the newspaper and the author Rinat Sagdiev has noted that all the data has been obtained from public sources (extract from Rosreestr, the official income statement published in the media). The author stressed that such data are of great importance to society: as land, 22 hectares of forest belonging to sanatorium “Barvikha”, moved from state ownership to private.

Meanwhile, the press Secretary of “Rosneft” Mikhail Leontyev called the text “a senseless order,” and in a statement of “Rosneft” stressed that the said land was acquired and declared in accordance with the law.

This is not the first lawsuit filed by “Rosneft” and personally the head of the company Igor Sechin to the media in connection with various publications about the activities of the company and the estate of her head. In October, the court upheld another lawsuit Sechin on protection of honor and dignity to “the New newspaper” from-for publications on a luxury yacht St. Princess Olga, which, according to the publication, from time to time rests the wife of the head of the oil giant. However, unlike claims to “Vedomosti”, in the lawsuit obtained by “Novaya Gazeta”, was not requirements on the destruction of circulation.

17 November the Moscow Arbitration court has satisfied the claim of “Rosneft” to the Communist party and to the information Agency “Rosbalt” in connection with publications “Valery Rashkin: the Government officially allowed the management of “Rosneft” to steal” and “Rashkin: Allowing Rosneft to hide commercial information, the economy Ministry encourages theft”, published on the websites of the defendants and ordered them to publish a retraction within 10 days after the court decision comes into force, what will happen in a month unless appealed. The claim by the third Respondent – the Deputy of the state Duma Valery Rashkin – the court fully dismissed. Meanwhile “Rosneft” has refused demands to oblige the defendants to remove defamatory information from websites, as defendants have already done so voluntarily.

In 2014, Sechin has won a lawsuit on protection of honor, dignity and business reputation to “Vedomosti” and author of the publication, which contained arguments about the influence of the head of “Rosneft” on the Russian economy. In the end, the newspaper was forced to publish a retraction.

12 December of the current year will be a meeting of the Arbitration court under the claim “Rosneft” to the RBC. The reason for it was published in April 2016, the article “Sechin asked the government to protect Rosneft from BP”. Rosneft claims that set forth the material information is untrue, defames the business reputation of the company and requires the holding company as compensation for record amount of three billion rubles.
