The Verkhovna Rada has postponed consideration of the bills is fraught with the ban of the UOC-MP, after “prayerful standing” of her supporters
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine refused to consider two draft laws on religious organizations, which can lead to a ban on the territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP). The Deputy head of the faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko” Alexey Goncharenko declared this after about a hundred Orthodox held under the wall of the Parliament campaign, which they called prayer, against the adoption of the relevant laws. Are these two events, Goncharenko said.
“It’s not a rally, not a political action, it is prayer. Believers try to appeal to MPs through prayer that is not accepted irreligious, uncivil, unconstitutional laws that Parliament today introduced”, – commented the event the representative of the Synodal information Department of the UOC-MP Bishop Clement (quoted by Depo.Ua).
He explained that prayer is under the walls of Parliament is against two bills in the first reading, due to the consideration of which is under threat may be the activity of the UOC-MP in the country.
“The laws that Parliament today suddenly introduced, are absolutely discriminatory. Deputies are trying to make the harm, or in special conditions to supply only one denomination – the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Our members think that the Church is an institution that sits in my office you can just to close to deny. The Church is the millions of believers,” said Clement.
About “prayer protests”, which will be held under the walls of Parliament, may 18, on the eve told “Izvestia” Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the “Opposition bloc” Vadim Novinsky, and he said that believers “will come to the Parliament at the call of hearts,” “not for money, not by coercion but by order of his conscience”. The MP called the campaign “prayerful standing” and “peaceful prayer protest.”
The purpose of standing is “to reason with these umopomracheniya MPs and withdrew his bill, or the majority in the Verkhovna Rada rejected it”. “People will pray that the deputies came to his senses and made the right decision,” explained Novinsky.
It is N4128 the bills “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On freedom of conscience and religious organizations” (governing the change of subordination of religious communities religious centers through the registration of the new Charter or amendments and additions to the existing)” and N4511 “On the special status of religious organizations, senior centers, which are located in a state that recognized by the Supreme Rada as the country-aggressor”.

“We should not just three times, and three hundred and three times to think before to do any questions related to religion and Church, to intervene through legislative action. I believe that today we should not consider and we do not consider”, – he said.
As transfers “RBC-Ukraine”, Goncharenko said that the part of deputies who make the Parliament a draft laws on religion, I consider them useful for the state, but the part of parliamentarians is doing it on purpose to cause outrage and division of society.
