Employee of a penal colony in Yakutia was seriously injured when a grenade explosion during a training exercise to prevent a rebellion of the prisoners, deprived of the leg, according to the regional Investigative Committee.

September 28, while conducting training sessions on the economic territory of the yard of IK-6, located in the settlement of mokhsogollokh in Khangalassky region of the Republic, occurred the explosion of a stun grenade near a group of members of the FPS, resulting in a 29-year-old Junior inspector of Department of protection of a corrective colony N7 suffered a bodily injury as a partial traumatic amputation of the lower third of the right leg, the report said.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was urgently operated on. Currently, doctors assess his condition as serious, notify the insurance company organized preliminary examination in this regard.

Regional management of Federal service of execution of punishments, for their part, organized the official investigation into the incident, said the Agency YakutiaMedia in the press service of the Ministry.
