The battle for the title of interim world champion under the version of world Boxing Council (WBC) in a super heavyweight between the Russian Alexander Povetkin and the canadian bermana Stiverne will take place on 17 December in Russia, reported in the official microblog of the WBC on Twitter.

The head of the promotion company “World of Boxing” Andrey Ryabinsky, who won the bidding for the right to host this fight, wants to spend it in Yekaterinburg.

Recall that Povetkin was to meet with WBC champion American DevTeam Wilder on may 21 in Moscow. However, their meeting in the ring did not take place due to the fact that the body of Russians were found traces of Meldonium.

After a thorough investigation, the WBC chose not to sanction the boxer, however, due to injury, Wilder’s opponent Povetkin became Stern.

Today the 37-year-old Alexander takes the rankings of the WBC heavyweight champion. He participated in 31 combat, suffering just one defeat from Ukrainian Vladimir Klitschko. His 38-year-old rival, who has won 25 wins in 28 fights, is the second.
