Charter flights between Russia and Turkey will start at least two weeks. As reported by RIA “Novosti”, said the Executive Director of the Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze.
“Experts ATOR believe that since 8 July, the government gave a week for the elaboration and submission of proposals to resume Charter flights, then at least another week will be needed to organize things,” – said Lomidze.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev instructed the officials within a week to submit to the government agreed proposals for the resumption of Charter flights between Russia and Turkey.
At the end of last week, Maya Lomidze said that the ATOR is waiting for recovery of Charter communications with Turkey by the end of July. At the same time, she said, the restoration of air links with Turkey have not yet greatly influenced the redistribution of tourist flow from Russia, as the season is almost over, no Charter flights it is quite expensive.
A ban on the sale of tours to Turkey and other sanctions against Ankara was introduced by the Russian authorities after November 2015, the Turkish air force shot down a Russian su-24 bomber involved in the operation in Syria. On 30 June Putin signed a decree on the resumption of sales of package tours after the Turkish leader, in a letter apologized to Russia in connection with the incident.
