Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov has made an offer to the businessman Stan Kronke for the purchase of shares of English football club “Arsenal” in the amount of 1.3 billion dollars, according to the newspaper Financial Times , citing three sources familiar with the situation.

In February 2016, the former partner of Usmanov’s company Red and White Fakhrad Moshiri sold to Russian businessman all his shares of Arsenal, after which the share of Russian businessman at the club increased to 30.04%. The main shareholder of the London club is an American Kronke owning 67,05% of the shares.

A proposal to sell a controlling stake in Usmanov was done in April. According to the newspaper, Kronke not interested in selling its stake, but has yet to respond to a Russian businessman. Usmanov is the same as said one of the sources of the newspaper, wants to buy shares in order to strengthen the team. Russian businessman bought the first shares of “Arsenal” in 2007.

Usmanov is ranked fifth in the list of the richest businessmen of Russia according to Bloomberg. His condition, the Agency estimates at $ 14 billion.
