Former Minister of sports Vitaly Mutko, was appointed this week Deputy Prime Minister may leave his post of President of the Russian football Union (RFU).
Official in the near future intends to assess the necessity of this step, after appropriate consultation with the leadership of the International football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European football associations (UEFA)
“We consider this issue – quoted Mutko TASS. – Ahead of the world Cup. Today the President of the RFU is preparing for the world Cup, modernization of the Russian football national team. So we will look again at this question, we will consult with the leadership of FIFA and UEFA on this subject.”
On Wednesday the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Vitaliy Mutko was transferred from the post of Minister of sports, which has held since may 2008, Vice-Premier. Empty armchair of the Minister was occupied by the former Deputy sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov.
We will remind that in September of 2015 Mutko has replaced the head of the RFU Nicholas Thick, and in September of this year his term was extended for four years.
