Workers of a coal mine in Primorye stopped the hunger strike after a written promise to fulfill all their requirements
Workers Luchegorsk coal mine (LUR) in Primorye stopped the hunger strike after the conciliation Committee under the leadership of Vice-Governor of the region Evgeny Vishnyakov, reports “Interfax”.
“The Commission members signed the Protocol, which stipulates all the workers ‘demands”, – quotes Agency of the President of the coordinating Council of the Union of Pozharsky district of the region Sergey Belyakov. According to him, will also be conducted an internal investigation of the actions of some officials of the coal mine.
It was previously reported that during the meeting it was agreed that on 17 October, staff of Lura will pay premiums for a total amount of 28 million rubles, and until March 2017 the company will not be reductions in personnel.
Regional Prosecutor’s office announced that on October 14 the Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Gulyagin and the Prosecutor of the Primorsky territory Sergey Beschasny will hold personal reception of citizens in the city “for the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens”.
The hunger strike of workers of Lura began on 11 October. Initially, it was attended by 40 people, but a day later the number of protesters exceeded 120 people, and the three of them to this day hospitalized.
The workers were protesting against layoffs and reduction of wages for the year it has decreased in two times. Also employees of the company require the management of the implementation of the branch tariff agreements, according to which coal miners and power engineering are eligible for benefits and guarantees.
Version of the far Eastern generating company (DGK), which includes LURE, reason for the conflict was the failure of the company established performance bonuses, which led to a reduction in employee premiums for August. The company noted that other obligations to employees were met.
On 12 October, the Governor of the region Vladimir Miklushevsky urged the leadership of the holding “RAO es of the East” and DHA to change managers Lura. To resolve the situation in Luchegorsk dispatched Vice-Governor Vishnyakova.
LUR is developing Bikin deposits of brown coal, the main consumer of which is the largest power station of the region – Primorskaya GRES. The company employs nearly three thousand people. Also, the company includes the management of railway transport, motor transport, agriculture, and numerous support services.
According to the Union, 400 employees this year was fired from the company, massive cuts are coming and on the Seaside state district power station.
