“Years mi SPIK from may HART”: Medvedev parodied Mutko, introducing him to members of the government
Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev presented the members of the government’s new Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Mutko, before leaving the post of Minister of sports of Russia, using his own famous phrase in the English language, writes “the Russian newspaper”.
“Well. As some of my colleagues say, “years mi SPIK from may HART Institute Rashn,” he said with a noticeable Russian accent, opening the Cabinet meeting. He further noted that he intends “to introduce you to our colleagues – both old and new.”
“Vitaly Mutko, he’s now the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for sport, tourism and youth policy”, – said Medvedev. He also introduced the participants of the meeting the new Minister of sports Pavel Kolobov, who previously was the Deputy sports Minister.
The phrase “years mi SPIK from may HART” mentioned Medvedev, is part of a speech delivered Mutko at the meeting of the FIFA Executive Committee in Zurich in December 2010. Then the Minister read a speech in English with such a strong Russian accent that many of its passages became Internet memes, and video of the performance Chelsea have become one of the hits of YouTube.
Afterwards Mutko has repeatedly recalled it. So, Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2015 in celebration of the official birthday, gave him a tutorial of the English language. Medvedev then left a sarcastic comment under the photo of the birthday boy in the official account of the Russian government in Instagram. “Happy birthday, Mr Mutko. New er era fo ze vold began!” – I wrote to the Prime Minister.
Mutko had earlier promised by 2018, to speak English as well as its former Chairman of the English Football Association Geoff Thompson. Last summer it was reported that Mutko has handed over to “good” examination in English language in St. Petersburg state economic University, where he has achieved a degree of candidate of economic Sciences.
However, shortly before that Mutko is again “flashed” their level of English all the same in Switzerland, where he was summoned for questioning in connection with the corruption scandal in FIFA. When Western journalists peppered him with questions, the Minister first commented on the preparation of Russia to host the 2018 world Cup: “Is very good temp, open new stadium, no problem, no criminality”, and then tried to answer in English, then in a mixture of the two languages: “Tomorrow will be euro association”, but soon ceased to understand the content of the questions and asked to speak to him in Russian: “Please, question to me is russian” (literal translation: “Please question me there are Russian”).
