Youth national team of Russia on hockey defeated the team of Slovakia with the score 2:1 in the group stage of the world championship among players till 20 years, which is taking place these days in Helsinki.

The winning goal was scored by Artur Lauta and Egor Rykov, the Slovaks – Christian Jaros.

For the team under the direction of Valery Bragin this success was the fourth in a row in the group stage and allowed to go into the playoffs with the first place in group B.

Earlier in the tournament our hockey players defeated the Czech team (2:1), Finland (6:4) and Belarus (4:1).

The contender of Russian national team in the 1/4 finals will be the team of Denmark. Quarterfinal matches will be 2 in January.

We add that a year ago Russian national team has reached the finals of the youth world championship, where it lost to Canada(4:5).
